Virginia’s largest county is moving. Henrico County has issued a $100 million RFP for artificial intelligence technologies and intelligent automation solutions, structured as a Master Agreement through the GovMVMT Purchasing Cooperative — which means participating public agencies across Virginia, including school divisions, could access approved vendors through this contract vehicle.
We are tracking this RFP as a potential procurement pathway for local on-site AI systems in Virginia school divisions. If the right vendors respond and the contract is structured correctly, this could become the purchasing vehicle that makes Division-Managed AI deployments accessible without requiring each division to run its own full procurement process.
That matters. One of the biggest friction points between knowing what you need and actually deploying it is the procurement pathway. This contract could lower that barrier significantly for smaller divisions that have the budget but not the procurement bandwidth.
We will keep you updated as this develops.
